Early hours, white youths who were stopped trying to march on Asian area by police. .On Saturday 26th May after a fight between an Asian youth and a white youth a gang of white youths attacked Asian people and properties. Asian gangs responded in kind, firebombing a pub and then fighting with police. The resulting Oldham riots were the worst since the mid 1980’s.
