England, UK. 28.5.2001. Oldham. Asian children play in disused school with hut on fire on the Glodwick estate. On Saturday 26th May after a fight between an Asian youth and a white youth a gang of white youths attacked Asian people and properties. Asian gangs responded in kind, firebombing a pub and then fighting with police. The resulting Oldham riots were the worst since the mid 1980’s.
